i'm not very into reading..anymore i should say...i used to love reading when i was younger but as i've gotten older i just don't have time and my version of reading has ended up in reading tweets and the occasional facebook status. I've tried to love reading..i really have...however the last book i read all the way through was in english class (To Kill A Mockingbird) which was awhile ago, and i've been trying to read 'the great gatsby' since august......anywho last week i bought "The Fault In Our Stars" by john green. i had heard so many people rave about it on twitter and i watched the movie trailer and actually cried at how great it was so i decided i was going to push myself to read this book. i read the book in less than three days. i absolutely loved it. i actually had no problem getting into the book at all. after the first chapter i was hooked. i laughed and cried and aww'd at the perfectness of it. i really enjoyed the characters hazel and augustus. i didn't feel like i "related" to them in any way (i mean i've never had cancer or had anything that could kill me) but i imagined myself the best i could being in their positions which made my emotions ten times stronger. i'm not gonna lie....some parts and quotations went over my head but thanks to my best friend (google) i quickly understood more and more of the book. i can't tell you lots about the book without giving away the whole story (if you have read it then i could go on and on and on about it too you) but it wasn't a classic teen novel, there was no "bad boy falls in love with the good girl" or "childhood friends end up together" and it wasn't even quite like "romeo and juliet. the story line was not predictable and i thought it was unique. i think some people think the "cancer plot" is overdone (I've read my sisters keeper) but the fault in our stars was different. i can't even fully express my feelings about this book because they're just so strong! so if you're interested in a good..no..outrageously extrodinary book and don't mind crying and feeling emotionally exhausted for hours (maybe that was just me)...i highly recommend "the fault in our stars" :)
