He's The Reason For The Season

i've thought about what to write for a christmas post for almost a week now and all i've come up with is this.....

christmas is such a difficult time for me each year....losing two of my grandparents so close to christmas has made each christmas different but i've learned to cherish the memories of christmas past....like how gramma used to have us act out the nativity and how grampa would play "here comes santa claus" on the piano only if we batted our eyelashes and promised to be good.....i'm so greatful for my family and the christmas traditions we have and continue to make.

i think the thing that has made christmas less difficult for me is that each year i have learned to love the reason for christmas more and more....

if you have not seen the video "He Is The Gift" yet i highly recommend you watch it. right now. twenty times. okay well watch it once you finish reading this post... because it truly puts everything i believe about christmas into one video. while christmas time is so wonderful to give presents and treats and shop and eat and be busy busy BUSY it's so important to remember that Jesus Christ was the greatest gift ever given to the world. he came in such a humble but amazing way and without him nothing could ever be possible. i know my life has truly been blessed because of his atonement and gospel and i only hope that i can learn to remember that not only on december 25th but all year long.

merry christmas xo
